It was nice to relax and just hang out with my dogs and not have to see too many people sigh :) Ive missed out on a ton of Internet stuff though //sorry
I got to sleep in the same bed as Liam for four days straight too.
I thought I would find this difficult, but actually it was awesome, and I’m going to miss it :( it was nice to be able to hold his hand whilst sleeping, and cuddle up to each other once in awhile, you know until it got too hot and sweaty
I’m really going to miss that.. I hope we can move in together soon and I can share a bed with him more often.. :)

So yay my books came! (chater two in full colour!) I love printing books in a4- SO BIG!! I’m encouraging this as a format to use in comics more :)

Ok, I want to hold a tumblr debate. Basically tumblr is great for the exchange of ideas, but the fact we’re pretty inarticulate about it bothers me. What I’m saying is everyone exchanges thoughts and ideas as keyboard smashing or rambly posts….
I’m not very good at articulating but I’ll do my best… Although yes, I do think there are characters out there who are basically just men, I don’t think Korra is one of them
the difference between Korra (and tbh any character in the avatar spectrum) and characters I would consider not very well written strong women, is that gender doesn’t even come into it!
I don’t see Korra as particularly girly, but honestly I think that’s part of her character. I don’t feel when the writers wrote Korra they were thinking, ‘hey, let’s do a string female character!’ I think they were more thinking along the lines of ‘hey! Let’s do someone who is almost the complete opposite of Aang!’ . To me, the love and crushes and wanting to look beautiful are not tacked on. My evidence is that the way Korra reacts to having a crush is really child-like and silly and often brash! I propose that if it WAS tacked on, it would be done in a way that’s out of character to her. But I think the way she has dealt with her feelings is totally within her character!
so, I do think there are ‘strong’ girls out there who are just men, and to me there is a difference- the reason why those characters don’t work is because they lack DEPTH and SUBSTANCE in their character.
I think thereis another great example of a strong female character in Avatar, a character who is strong but also incredibly feminine, and that is Katara! I found her To be very strong, particularly towards the end when she begins to develop her water bending. She to me is a GREAT example of the kind of strong femininity I think OP is referring to.
yes, Katara is a very emotional character, totally a mothering character and I think one of the girliest characters in avatar, but not once do I remember her being a ‘weak’ and ‘helpless’ character. In her own way she is very independent and strong, and really is the care taker of the other characters. Thus, there you have it!
